Kintsugi Rebirth Sun Sculpted Altar

This particular altar was created a couple years ago and cracked during its firing. Unable to let such a beautiful piece go I stored it until i found a way to incorporate the crack into an entirely new piece. Having a love for the Japanese style of art of Kinstugi and Jackie Brink's take I was inspired to finally recreate this piece. Using epoxy clay and gold leaf I sculpted beautiful foliage growing out of the crack and surrounding the entire altar bringing new life, a sense of rebirth. I am obsessed with this altar and am so excited to share it with the world. It is also adorned with amethyst, moonstone and pink quartz. 

This hanging altar has been handcrafted for your sacred space. It’s perfect for devotional or magical intent. Because these altars are small, the practitioner must be selective in what you place on your altar. You could use your limited space as a working platform for a spell, as a sacred shrine for a certain deity or saint, making an offering or burning incense to cleanse your space. This altar can be hanged or rested on a flat surface.

My heart and soul go into the creation of each piece I make. Every piece sparks my joy and I hope they will spark yours too. These babies are made with love and require take about a month to create as I create in small batches. They are wheel thrown, carved and dried for a week then fired in a kiln. After the first firing they are glazed and dried for 24 hours minimum before going in the kiln again for the colorful and shiny glass finish. Those with Gold and Iridescent Mother of Pearl require two more firings for each overglaze.  

As they are handmade, please expect some slight imperfections. Check pictures!!
