Between Two Worlds: Creating in the Space of Transformation

Between Two Worlds: Creating in the Space of Transformation

Every collection I make begins with a feeling — a whisper of an idea. Between Two Worlds was born from that in-between place we all pass through at different times: the space between who we were and who we are becoming.

The piece was inspired by the symbolism of the pomegranate — a fruit that carries both life and death within it. It reminds me that endings and beginnings often exist together, woven into the same thread. In the story of Persephone, the pomegranate is both a binding and a promise, a moment that marks her descent into darkness and her return to light. The snake weaves a quiet thread of transformation and wisdom. Often seen as a bridge between realms, it reminds us of the cycles of life, death, and rebirth, shedding the old to reveal the new. This piece invites you to honor those moments of transition, the space where growth and insight emerge. As the snake glides between worlds, it encourages curiosity, courage, and the subtle magic that exists just beyond the familiar.

When I began shaping this piece, I thought about what it means to live in those in-between spaces. The times when we feel lost, unsure, or waiting for something to shift. Clay has always helped me find peace there. It mirrors transformation, soft and yielding at first, then becoming something strong, something lasting.

Between Two Worlds became a meditation on balance: shadow and light, grief and growth, endings and renewal. It’s about honoring the transitions, not rushing through them. Because it’s in that space — the smoke, the stillness, the moonlight — that we find who we truly are.
